Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas offers you the chance to learn these essential workplace skills. Our basic course is designed to be very user-friendly and  specifically for people who have never used a computer before.  If you already have some computer knowledge, intermediate classes might be a good fit for you. For those seeking to sharpen their knowledge further, advance classes are also available.  Classes are free and will give you the opportunity to compete in today’s work environment to land your dream job or enhance your pay at your current place of employment.

  • Job Seeking Tools for Seasoned Professionals -  To educate seasoned job seekers on how to sell themselves and their wealth of knowledge and skills to employers. 
  • Outlook  "Tips You Need To Know" -  To introduce job seekers to Outlook and educate them on commonly used features of Outlook.
  • Introduction to Word - To introduce job seekers to Word and educate them on commonly used features of the computer program. 
  • Job Retention -  To educate job seekers on how to retain employment and how to overcome obstacles related to Work Ethic, Interpersonal Skills, and Customer Service.
  • Preparing for a Job Interview  -  To educate job seekers on Interview Etiquette, Professional Attire, and needed Preparations such as, reliable transportation, extra resume copies, plan for any delays such as heavy traffic or road construction.

  • Soft Skills- Did you know many employers place greater value on soft skills, like conflict management, than on technical skills?  Learn the interpersonal skills that will give you the competitive edge in your career.

Every individual will have to agree to have a background check conducted. 


Will you work with me if I have a felony? 

Criminal charges are reviewed and admittance into our classes is on a case by case basis.   


Do you provide transportation to classes? 

This is not a service Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas offers.

Computer banks and phone banks available for public use for job search purposes only.

The Training, Placement and Life Skills Program  (T-PALS) is offered in both Lubbock and Amarillo and encompasses a number of free services including beginning, intermediate and advance computer skills classes and other employment-related training.  Participants will have the opportunity to work closely with a T-PALS Employment Specialist while learning digital skills on technologically advanced and  computer systems. relevant to today's work environment.  Upon successful completion of a class, participants will earn continuing education credits to our partners at South Plains College. T-PALS also offers a free computer training center and phone bank for individuals to access for job-related interests.
