The Training, Placement and Life Skills Program  (T-PALS) is offered AT NO CHARGE in both Lubbock and Amarillo. Our centers are temporarily closed to face-to-face training opportunities, but all services are being offered online.

T-PALS encompasses free services including Basic, Intermediate and Advanced computer skills classes and other Employment Development Training opportunities and Career Enhancement Seminars relevant to successfully competing in today's job market. 

Upon enrollment, you will have the opportunity to Learn to Zoom and be given access to information to direct you to free internet, computer and printing services.  

Upon successful completion of a class, participants will earn continuing education credits from our partners at South Plains College. Call one of our T-PALS centers at (806) 744-8419 in Lubbock or (806) 331-6890 in Amarillo to get started.

These days, employers require employees to accomplish many of their normal, daily duties by way of a computer. So, many jobs require basic to advanced computer user skills. Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas offers you the chance to learn these essential workplace skills. Our basic course is designed to be very user-friendly and  specifically for people who have never used a computer before.  If you already have some computer knowledge, intermediate classes might be a good fit for you. For those seeking to sharpen their knowledge further, advance classes are also available.  Classes are free and will give you the opportunity to compete in today’s work environment to land your dream job or enhance your pay at your current place of employment.

  • Excel “Tools You Can Use" - Introduces job seekers to Excel and reviews commonly used features. 
  • Tools for the PowerPoint User - Instructs professionals on how to create custom presentations and make them unforgettable. 
  • Job Seeking Tools for Seasoned Professionals – Provides tips to seasoned job seekers on how to sell themselves and their wealth of knowledge and skills to employers. 
  • Outlook “Tips You Need To Know" - Introduces job seekers to Outlook and acquaints them with commonly used features.
  • Introduction to Word - Introduces job seekers to Word and acquaints them with commonly used features.
  • Job Retention – Introduces job seekers to techniques designed to retain employment and overcome obstacles related to Work Ethic, Interpersonal Skills, and Customer Service.
  • Preparing for a Job Interview - Introduces job seekers to interview etiquette, professional attire and needed preparations such as, reliable transportation, extra resume copies and to plan for any traffic delays.

What does the class/training cost? 

Nothing! It’s FREE based on the need/demand of the potential students the classes offered may change.  Class times and length vary depending on the course; please call us for details.   


What are the requirements?  

Every individual will have to agree to have a background check conducted. 


Will you work with me if I have a felony? 

Criminal charges are reviewed and admittance into our classes is on a case by case basis.   


Do you provide transportation to classes? 

This is not a service Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas offers.
